Wow, that’s a weird thing for a marketer to suggest!?
Right? STOP spending money advertising your home care business?
Maybe not every dime..but how about being able to significantly decrease the amount you spend on things like newspaper (really people?), print, AdWords, facebook, and direct referral marketing?
The big home care franchises partially miss this all the time.
But their franchisees don’t have to. 🙂
In fact, all home care businesses, assisted living facilities, independent living communities, care managers, elder law attorneys and ANYONE in the senior market should pay attention to what I’m about to tell you.
MARKETING IS DIFFERENT IN 2018. It is not the same as it was in 2008. Or 1998. Or 1988.
You have the power of reach and influence at your fingertips. So why not use it to take your business from 5-figures to 6-figures, to 7-figures?
Fear is usually the reason. Fear of failure, fear of what everyone will think, fear of losing money, fear of you-name-it.
These are actually all excuses.
If you are bad-ass enough to get your butt out there and start your own business, then what do you really need to be afraid of??
Ok, here’s the formula we are using to skyrocket our visibility this year. Commitment is the key.
I like how Scott Oldford describes this. The concept has been around forever. This is one way to explain it.
This means having the right message, at the right time and place, to the right person.
You become Relevant by having the right message, that talks exactly about the situation your lead is in.
The magic happens when you are able to be Omnipresent as well, so that your leads see you in their Facebook newsfeed constantly, as well as in their inbox, on YouTube, in Facebook groups, etc.
You become the most Relevant choice because you are the only choice.
And when you invest your time and resources into building stronger relationships, you create Intimacy.
The effect of having these 3 things is that it supercharges your online marketing, and gives you the tools to scale your business with a consistent flow of qualified leads wholove you and your message so much that they’re pre-sold on your program before they ever hop on a sales call with you.

It took me a while to understand what this meant. I read it 10 times.
Relevant: When someone is in an elder care crisis, you know you have the solution to their problem and you share it with them. You have a relevant discussion with regard to a potential client’s needs. This might be messaging in your blog posts, on the home page of your website, or in a video.
Omnipresent: You are everywhere with your message. One website ain’t gonna cut it. Omnipresent means you are on FB, YT, LI, TW, Pi, and anywhere else you can make a statement. Some of this can be outsourced, but no one can replace YOU.
Intimacy: People are surprised when they talk to Valerie V on the phone. I’m not sure why. I guess it’s because they have only seen me in videos or read my blog posts. But, yes, I do work here, and I really am quite involved. Because I enjoy my work and have the time, I can talk to clients, I can respond to FB posts, I can welcome new members to Elder Care Entrepreneurs.
There’s a lot more to each of these items. Technology helps spread the word, but what is the word you want to spread? What is your message? Where is your message?
Hiding behind your website is over. Come out from behind the curtain and let’s get real! People love the real you.
So how do you STOP spending so much money?
You build your audience.
- Build your email list,
- build your Facebook business page,
- build your Facebook support group.
Eventually, fresh leads will be ever-present.
This takes work upfront, but after the work, comes the realization that you are everywhere, and everyone knows it. (A GREAT FEELING!)
